In addition to the formal educational accomplishments you've acquired, I believe you're also going to need to know how to design and implement your own experience-based, self-directed learning programs. You will need to know how to take the knowledge, perspectives, and insights your educational accomplishments have given you and use them as tools that help you leverage your everyday experiences into effective self-directed learning opportunities. The 21st Century learning equation that speaks to this is something every adult needs to become intimately familiar with, and exquisitely capable of implementing. It looks like this:

"Formal Education + Self-Directed Learning Experiments = Successful Personal and Professional Development."

This equation highlights both the Front-End educational knowledge and the Back-End learning skills that today every leading practitioner must know about, and know how to support their clients, if they're going to either help them learn in today’s complex and rapidly changing world.

At this point, I've not yet found practitioners who, in any explicit way, share this hypothesis. If you know of any consultant or coach who is using this equation as the foundation of their work, I'd appreciate hearing about them.
